Each day the ASTRA FILM SIBIU 2007 Cinematheque opens a window towards the realities of the world and the every-day life of the people. The best documentary films of the past two decades, non-fiction films praised at famous festivals, award-winning documentaries of the previous ASTRA FILM Festivals are screened on each day of the Cultural Capital of Europe at ASTRA FILM.

In fiecare zi, festivalul de la Sibiu care a cucerit aprecierea si admiratia iubitorilor de film de calitate din toata lumea -pot fi vizionate pe tot parcursul anului Capitalei Culturale Europene la ASTRA FILM.

In muntii Hengduan din vestul provinciei Yunnan din China, exista un sat al elevilor, putin cunoscut si aproape inaccesibil celor din afara. Se numeste Tian Deng si este locul care adaposteste singura scoala dintr-o zona care se intinde pe aproape 160 km2. Din cauza terenului accidentat si a drumurilor periculoase, copiii din zona nu pot veni la scoala in fiecare zi. De aceea, singura solutie este sa locuiasca chiar langa scoala. in lipsa unor camine si a unei cantine, pe care scoala nu-si poate permite sa le construiasca si sa le intretina, parintii copiilor le-au construit mici adaposturi din lemn. Cu timpul, au aparut in jurul scolii 80 de asemenea constructii. Aici locuiesc peste 300 de elevi, intre sase si paisprezece ani. Dupa ore, elevii de la Tian Deng trebuie sa vada de micile lor gospodarii. Gatesc, spala rufe, fac focul, aduc apa, pentru ca trebuie sa-si poarte singuri de grija. Din ziua in care ajung in satul elevilor, acesti copii poarta toata povara responsabilitatilor de adult.
